Assignment #1: Icon

The objective of the icons is to get a point across without using words but using your visual learning skills. When reflecting on this piece I think there are a few of things i could have done to make this better however i enjoy working in illustrator and am looking forward to learning more about it!

Assignment #2: Texture Grids

The objective of my texture grid was to use three different forms of textures within three different columns. In the first column i was using line patterns. In the second pattern i was trying to efficiently use space. Lastly, the third pattern was used to emphasize the blacks used in a piece with grays. I enjoyed working with the pen tool very much because at first i didn't understand it.

Assignment #3: Color Wheel
The objective of this assignment is to create a color whee. However, not just any type of color wheel a color wheel which has a unique display of to objects that go together. I chose a bird and a feather for this piece. Meanwhile, I only had to create this piece once then i could angle and copy and paste the object each time. This assignment was my favorite assignment that i had created in Adobe Illustrator.

Assignment #4: Pop Art
The objective of this assignment was to take the skills from the color wheel and create a portrait in photoshop using the different color schemes. This assignment was fun and frustrating. I did not crop my second picture of the first row and that is why it isn't aligned with all of my other photographs. This is the first time in my life I used photoshop and i loved it!

Assignment #5: Photomosaics
The objective of this assignment was to create a picture within a picture. This assignment is my favorite assignment so far. I chose a picture of love carved within a beach then chose several pictures of people in love. To make a big picture of love.

Assignment #6: If I crossed the road...

The objective of this picture was to make a picture that reminded me of a blog. This was my all time favorite project/assignment we have done. I chose this because I would love to go to heaven and see my grandparents if i was given the chance to do so. This was a fun way to express that. I hope you like it!

Assignment #7: Blend Yourself
The objective of this assignment was to photoshop yourself into a photo of a group of people. With the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 just being released. I photo shopped myself in a picture with Taylor and Kristen at the premieres it didn't take me a long time. Overall, this was a fun assignment. 

Assignment #8: See What I'm Saying

The objective of this assignment was to make a complete picture just using the letters to one word.The word I decided to use was "depressed."I love this design because i used a lot of time to create this specific design. During the time of creating the design each time she would look more like herself the happier i would get! This design is my new favorite. If i could do something different next time i would not go off the page with my design. Overall, I believe i did a good job on this assignment. 

Assignment #11: Photo + Text Manipulation
The objective of this assignment is to use the different skills we have learned from assignment 9 as well as assignment 5. This picture used I took myself so this work is fully mine. My brothers friend had died during spring break of 2011. He was only 10. When I think of the song, "If I die Young" by The Band Perry. I begin to think of that situation, My brother is wearing his shirt with his face on it and the door opening represents him saying his final goodbyes. This is my new favorite assignment.

Assignment #12: Alphabetography Poster
The objective of this assignment was to use what we have learned about photography and idolize it when taking pictures of letters we see within nature that could be letters. After having all the letters in the alphabet I used Photoshop to create a big alphabet poster. This was a interesting assignment that i enjoyed working on. 

Assignment #13: Exquisite Corpse
The objective of this assignment was to develop a section of a body with everyone completing a different part without looking at the other parts. I created the bottom half. When creating this I had brainstormed and sketched a basketball player so that is where I had gotten my ideas. They do not align perfectly however this was one of my favorite assignments so far and the first in which i was able to work with other designers. 

Assignment #14: Career Posters
The objective of this assignment was to give information about a specific graphic design career.  The career that I was trying to inform the class about was known as Illustrartion. When designing this poster I also had to use the Z-Pattern. Which is the pattern used when trying to get a viewer to read the artwork you have displayed. Over all, this was an informal assignment that I enjoyed doing.

Assignment #15: Illuminated Manuscript
The objective of this assignment was to idolize what we had learned from creating the various  podcast we had read and use it to create this manuscript. They used to create these when making bibles to create all the various colors. In my Illuminated Manuscript, I used the lyrics to the son, "California King Bed." I used photoshop as well as brushes to create the texturized background. I had fun designing this and am ready for the next assignment!

Assignment #16: History Timeline
The objective of this assignment was to make a creative infographic telling the history of graphic design. I like this piece and this is one of my favorite pieces i have created. I made a chalkboard with the women writing the information seen down on the chalkboard.

Assignment #17: Combination Mark
The objective of this assignment was to make a logo however in making this logo you were suppose to make a design with only a picture to convey the message you would want the reader or viewer to see. You were only allowed to use two spot colors as well which made finding the right colors for the design a little bit more complex

Assignment #18: Word Mark
The objective of this assignment was to create a logo with only using the name of the company. This is known as Word Mark and is used in corporations known as UPS and FED-X. When creating word marks you can use the initials of the company and these designs were just me testing how to make several different word mark logos. 

Assignment #19: Stationary Package
The objective of this assignment was to create a stationary with using the skills that we aquired when doing assignments 18 as well as 17. You were allowed to choose one of the numerous different names of companies that Ms. Dayton had made up I choose to use the company "The Candy Shop."

Assignment #20: Social Issue Poster
The objective of this last assignment was to make a poster that conveys a public service announcement. The Social Issue in which I had choosen was smoking. I used this portrait and designed it with using pantone colors. Then I had to create a logo that simply shows that the social issueis telling you to not smoke. Lastly we had to choose a word and i choose the word quit because that is what I believe smokers need to do. This was my final assignment as well as it was my absolute favorite assignment that I have had throughout the entire school year!
